2021 Logan Shiraz

LOGAN

Made exclusively from grapes grown in Orange, in some of the highest altitude vineyards in Australia. The restraint and elegance feel European, the fruit character is distinctly Australian.

The delicate embroidery on the labels reflects the unique fruit flavours of each wine. Each one is lovingly and skillfully executed. Just like the wine.

TASTING NOTES

Having sold out of our 2019 Logan Shiraz a little while back made us feel a little empty inside and quite bare and exposed on the outside. Afterall, this is Australia! Where every 4 in 5 wineries grows shiraz and the variety makes up almost half of red wine grape plantings. In 2020 it was also the most crushed variety. Sadly, we were not a part of this statistic as you probably already know, having lost all our grapes that year to smoke taint from the bush fires.

It feels good to be back with another lovely, fragrant, cool-climate style shiraz from the high slopes of Orange. Medium bodied, pretty and elegant, but still with plenty of depth. Wild yeast. 12 months in oak. Rich yet soft aromas of mulberry and dark cherry, spices of tarragon, white pepper and clove, plum, beef stock and peach flavours.
